NexQloud Tackles DDoS Mitigation from a Different Angle

By Rory Lidstone

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks are simply a fact of doing business these days, and so are solutions to help mitigate them. In fact, with DDoS attack bandwidth up a staggering 718 percent in the first quarter according to Prolexic, it’s more important than ever for businesses to implement a competent, advanced DDoS mitigation and uptime management platform. As it so happens, NexQloud has just the platform to fit this need.

The NexQloud platform is designed to proactively resolve even the most complicated DDoS attacks with little to no user input. It does this with its unique Human Identification Engine, which attacks DDoS problems from a different angle than traditional mitigation systems, while offering complete protection against volumetric and application layer DDoS attacks.

NexQloud also leverages Anti-bot Defense, Smart AI and Web API Protection to further enhance its DDoS mitigation capabilities.

Anti-bot Defense comprises Protocol ID, Browser ID and Challenge ID, enabling NexQloud to distinguish between humans and bots. This three-pronged approach analyzes and traces HTTP protocols, checks browser behavior patterns and challenges suspicious traffic requests to create a more effective defense front.

Smart AI and its dynamic state monitor, meanwhile, allow NexQloud to mitigate DDoS attacks with much greater accuracy. An added benefit to this is a much decreased rate of false positives in NAT networks and static policy based traffic.

Finally, Web API Protection is a virtual API throttling system that boosts server performance and frees up bandwidth, while Geo IP control automatically denies malicious requests from suspicious regions.

In terms of uptime management, NexQloud leverages advanced website optimization and greater network transparency for real time and post event analysis for greater effectiveness. In the case of the former, NexQloud’s search engine client ID system allows good crawlers to do their job while decreasing response times, thus facilitating improved SEO rankings. For the latter, NexQloud includes a suite of Threat Analytic tools.
