Cloudamize Monetizes to the Tune of $1.2M New Big Ones

By Doug Barney

The measure of a startup is often how much cash it attracts. And Cloudamize is worth at least $1.2 million, which is exactly what it just snagged in seed financing.

The company provides capacity planning and optimization for the wildly popular Amazon Web Services (AWS).

AWS is, for the most part, a raw set of cloud services and infrastructure, which is one of the reasons it is so inexpensive. Third parties such as Cloudamize bring more manageability and discipline to AWS, allowing it to do things offered by more highly managed clouds.

“Cloudamize helps companies by taking complex data sets associated with their AWS deployment and provides them with accurate and actionable recommendations to improve that environment.  Through the Cloudamize application, companies can efficiently scale by aligning their cloud infrastructure with business objectives,” the company explained. “Cloudamize is the only platform that provides the necessary combination of two critical services: recommendations based on AWS cost and performance information. With insight into cost and performance, companies can confidently optimize both their current and planned infrastructure.  For example, by utilizing the SaaS application, NimbleCommerce was able to identify actions to realize a 46 percent reduction in their AWS spend, while simultaneously ensuring that their instances were adjusted to an optimal performance range.”

The Cloudamize technology employs predictive analytics to guide client the right-fitting cloud infrastructure for today and to accommodate future capacity needs.

“As Amazon Web Services expands its offerings, customers are actively looking for solutions that ensure that their cloud deployment can meet their performance objectives, while providing the cost benefit of a flexible infrastructure,” said Khushboo Shah, CEO of Cloudamize.  “With this investment, we will be able to scale our team to meet market demand for our solution.”

Cloud Monitoring

You can’t really do capacity planning or optimization without knowing how your cloud is functioning. So here Cloudamize adds the ability to monitor and collect key analytics, as well as tracking the security of your cloud.

Top performance measures can be gathered through daily reports, and when there’s trouble, you can get alerts about the problem.
