Pythian Launches Cloud-Based SaaS Session Management Tool for MSPs

By Laura Stotler

Data management consulting and services provider Pythian has launched a new software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool. The Adminiscope SaaS solution is a privileged session management tool designed specifically for service providers and outsourced services companies.

The new offering enables service providers to monitor and record all activity performed across an IT infrastructure in real time. It's a good fit for managed service providers (MSPs) and cloud providers that remotely access enterprise systems, cloud infrastructures, servers and applications.

The Adminiscope tool provides a simple security gateway between MSPs and the infrastructure they manage in order to improve accountability and compliance. Activities that pass through the tool are all recorded through video capture. Recordings may be played back to show all work performed on the system, down to a single keystroke. The goal is to be able to quickly identify errors via a cloud solution, with no additional hardware or software necessary.

The offering can also help service providers earn additional revenue as well as improve customer service. Features include safeguarding infrastructure from malicious attacks, protecting service providers from liability errors or security breaches and enhancing regulatory compliance. Adminiscope also enables collaboration via commenting and tagging functionalities along with video sharing, so users may communicate with those working on the same system.

Additional features include access control to the entire IT infrastructure through multi-factor authentication using RSA SecureID tokens. The solution provides secure and redundant connectivity to Pythian's three data centers in Canada, Australia and the U.K.

"For service providers that are entrusted with broad access to enterprise systems, gaining the confidence and trust of their customers is crucial to ensuring long-standing and profitable customer relationships," said Paul Vallee, founder and executive chairman of Pythian. "Adminiscope gives organizations that can't afford the risk of a system malfunction the confidence in knowing their systems are monitored and secure."
