James Moore Technology Services Teams with SentinelOne and ConnectWise to Fortify SMB Cybersecurity

By Erik Linask

James Moore Technology Services, a consultancy focused on serving the SMB market, has announced a dual-pronged strategic partnership with cybersecurity provider SentinelOne and IT solutions provider ConnectWise.  The goal is to bring SentinelOne’s advanced Vigilance MDR solution to SMBs across Florida, with James Moore leveraging ConnectWise for continuous, round-the-clock threat monitoring.

This alliance is a direct response to the escalating cybersecurity threats facing businesses today, particularly smaller organizations that are increasingly becoming targets for sophisticated cyber attacks.

The cybersecurity landscape is becoming increasingly challenging, with data breaches and cyber attacks posing a significant threat to businesses of all sizes.  SMBs are hardly immune to cyber attacks and, in fact, are often targeted due to perceived or actual vulnerabilities and limited security resources.  Attacks are also not limited to specific industries.  As has been well documented, attacks can have devastating consequences, including financial losses, reputational damage, and operational disruptions.

“The unfortunate reality is that the threat of data breaches and cyber attacks has never been greater, particularly for smaller organizations that may have thought that hacks and intrusions were targeted solely at large companies,” notes Tomas Sjostrom, president of James Moore Technology Services.

What makes cybersecurity so challenging is the sophistication of threats is constantly evolving, with threat actors employing new advanced techniques – including AI-powered strategies –making it increasingly difficult for businesses to stay up-to-date or defend themselves with traditional security measures alone.

The financial constraints SMBs face make it difficult to allocate sufficient budgets for comprehensive security measures.  Unlike larger corporations that can invest heavily in cybersecurity, SMBs tend to operate on tight margins, restricting their ability to defend against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

What’s more, a lack of in-house cybersecurity expertise is a pressing issue for many SMBs, which do not have (enough) dedicated cybersecurity professionals and may rely on IT generalists – which is why so many of them are now looking to the MSP partners for cybersecurity services.

Sjostrom says this new dual partnership will help James Moore address these demands effectively, adding that,  with SentinelOne and ConnectWise, James Moore will provide the “robust cybersecurity solution that SMB clients require, especially as the sophistication and pace of attacks continue to escalate.”

The core of the solution is SentinelOne Vigilance, a 24/7 MDR service designed to identify and neutralize cyber attacks targeting endpoints.  James Moore will enhance this solution by leveraging ConnectWise’s event monitoring service, which is already deployed at over 100,000 customer sites, monitors over four million endpoints nationwide, analyzes a staggering 1.3 million events per second, and generates some 16,000 alerts daily.

The partnership is particularly timely as businesses increasingly adopt next-generation technologies like Generative AI tools and other AI-based applications, which create additional threat surfaces.  With companies quickly adopting new AI-based tools to improve operations and drive productivity, it’s easy to see where security gaps could arise and compromise their operations.

Collectively, James Moore, SentinelOne, and ConnectWise hope to provide SMBs with the resources and expertise needed to mitigate these evolving threats and protect sensitive data in the face of increasingly sophisticated attacks.  By providing access to enterprise-grade cyber protection, James Moore is also helping MSPs focus more of their effort on core business objectives without being overwhelmed by the complexities and constant vigilance required to defend against modern cyber threats.
