Earlier this year, my MSP Today colleague Greg Tavarez wrote a great piece about cyber insurance and its benefits for MSPs. (Those interested can read it in full here.)
The gist of Tavarez’s article is simple: With great cyber insurance comes great financial protection against losses that can result from data breaches and other malicious ploys perpetuated by bad actors. The right coverage against such threats “typically includes expenses related to data recovery, legal fees, public relations and potential regulatory fines, and can also include crisis management support,” as Tavarez described.
Proactively procuring cyber insurance — not terribly unlike shopping for automotive or homeowners insurance, for example — is a practice that should be embraced by organizations of all sizes. Though MSPs’ respective budgets will of course differ (and partnering with the right cyber insurance providers can take admittedly time), it’s still no less clear that protecting business assets and expediting recovery processes are a must.
Following Tavarez’s lead, I penned my own cyber insurance-focused article. This dove into data about a.) the rise in identity and privilege compromises and what security measures can be taken to avoid these issues, b.) the high frequency of cyber insurance claims in 2024 overall, and c.) how MSPs leveraging comprehensive threat detection and monitoring solutions (even AI-powered ones, albeit with ethical training and the necessary guardrails) can really make a difference. (Read on here.)
So with all this in mind (especially in a post-holiday state of mind as we now hurdle towards the new year), I figured it’d be a great time to mention the following:
From February 11-13, 2025, we’ll be busy as ever at the upcoming MSP Expo 2025, which is being held at the expansive Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It’s all part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience, which truly has a ton to offer.
Specifically, one expo session that folks will gain a lot from — in the vein of robust cybersecurity and cyber insurance and so on — is titled “Understanding Cybersecurity Insurance and How to Choose the Right Policy for Your Clients.” Attendees will learn about a variety of unique coverage options, key considerations for choosing best-fit policies, and how MSPs can advise their clients on what other cyber insurance boxes can be checked off to reliably secure peace of mind in 2025.
On the whole, MSP Expo 2025 offers a jam-packed three-day experience that combines conference education focused on growth strategies, networking opportunities, an exhibit hall full of the latest technologies, and plenty of other solutions aimed at helping MSPs build and future-proof their business operations.
We hope to see you there!
