Governance and Compliance Powerhouse Formed as Compliance Scorecard Acquires Privacy MSP

By Greg Tavarez

Good morning, readers. Happy Boxing Day. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

To kick things off today, let’s talk about Compliance Scorecard.

Compliance Scorecard is a platform designed to help MSPs manage and streamline their compliance processes. It offers a range of features and tools to help MSPs meet various industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR.

One of the key benefits of Compliance Scorecard for MSPs is its ability to automate many of the tasks involved in compliance management. This frees up MSPs' time and resources to focus on other aspects of their business. Additionally, Compliance Scorecard helps MSPs to identify and mitigate risks, improve their security posture. and demonstrate their commitment to compliance to their clients.

Compliance Scorecard is also a cost-effective solution for MSPs. It can be more affordable than hiring dedicated compliance staff or purchasing expensive compliance software. Compliance Scorecard is indeed a valuable tool for MSPs that want to improve their compliance posture and gain a competitive advantage.

And to make its platform even better, Compliance Scorecard announced it recently acquired Privacy MSP. For any unfamiliar, Privacy MSP is a specialized consulting firm that is focused on helping clients reduce risk and ensure compliance and governance to meet privacy regulations.

Privacy MSP founder Brian Blakley will join Compliance Scorecard as Chief Risk Officer. Blakley has more than 25 years of experience in IT, information security, data privacy and compliance. He will oversee a range of professional services aimed at helping MSPs implement, scale and enhance their compliance programs through adaptable service models.

As Chief Risk Officer, he will head the newly created Professional Services Division, providing customized service packages designed to guide MSPs through every step of their compliance journey.

The new professional services package includes three customized models.

  • Comprehensive Managed Services: Compliance Scorecard's experts fully implement and manage compliance initiatives on behalf of the MSP for seamless, end-to-end execution.

  • Empowered Self-Guided Solutions: MSPs are equipped with Compliance Scorecard's tools and expertise to independently execute their own compliance initiatives with confidence and autonomy.

  • Collaborative Partnership Model: A cooperative approach where Compliance Scorecard works alongside the MSP by combining internal resources with external expertise to co-manage compliance programs effectively.

The Compliance Scorecard acquisition of Privacy MSP is a key move for both companies. For Compliance Scorecard, it brings in specialized expertise in privacy compliance, a crucial area given the increasing importance of regulations like GDPR and CCPA. This acquisition allows them to expand their service offerings and provide more comprehensive solutions to their MSP clients.

And from the perspective of Privacy MSP, joining forces with Compliance Scorecard provides access to a larger platform and a wider customer base. This can accelerate their growth and enable them to reach a broader market for their privacy consulting services.

“We are thrilled to welcome Privacy MSP to the Compliance Scorecard family and bring Brian’s expertise to the forefront of our professional services division,” said Tim Golden, founder and CEO of Compliance Scorecard. “This represents a significant step forward in empowering MSPs to build out their own Compliance as a Service offering. We know MSPs face increasing regulatory pressures, and our goal is to make compliance not just manageable, but a driver of business growth.”
