Attracting and Retaining First-Rate Talent: Great Strategies on Display at MSP Expo 2025

By Alex Passett

Howdy and TGIF, MSP Today readers!

Listen, the last full week of 2025 is nearly upon us; time’s flown by like a supersonic sleigh ride, I feel. And whether or not you’re observing one of this month’s holidays like Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Yule, I hope any travels y’all may embark on see you safe and warm as we approach the new year.

But before we get there, let’s take a beat to talk about a topic virtually all businesses can relate to — attracting and retaining talent.

As a member of our editorial staff recently described, “Your talent is the heart of your MSP business, and it’s critical to running a successful enterprise.” It’s a fact; after all, the quality of service delivery and client satisfaction depend directly on the expertise and versatility of the team. Highly skilled employees can proactively manage IT infrastructure, efficiently resolve challenges, and provide valuable insights to clients. This, in turn, can lead to increased retention, positive word-of-mouth referrals, you name it.

Moreover, a recent McKinsey & Company study highlighted how superior talent “is up to eight times more productive,” and it went on to detail how — for complex occupations involving the information-heavy and interaction-intensive work of managers, software developers and etcetera — “high performers are an astounding 800% more productive.” (Peruse more McKinsey & Company data here.)

So, the long-story-short version?

Top talent truly differentiates MSP business operations.

Altogether, this is just one of the many reasons why we highly recommend attending the upcoming MSP Expo 2025, which’ll be taking place from February 11-13, 2025, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It’s part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW experience, and it's got a ton to offer teams looking to optimize their talent acquisition and retention strategies.

Specifically, one session attendees will want to keep an eye on is titled “Attracting and Retaining Top Talent: Building a High-Performing MSP Team” and it’ll be happening on Tuesday, February 11, 20254 from 2:00-2:45 PM. The session’s panel will explore a.) what it takes to reel in and keep close much-needed professionals and the skills they bring to competitive markets, and b.) how to both foster a positive work culture and support a profitable growth model, over time.

And on the whole, MSP Expo 2025 offers a three-day experience combining conference education focused on growth strategies, networking opportunities, an exhibit hall full of the latest technologies, and a variety of other solutions aimed at helping MSPs build and future-proof their business operations.

We hope to see you there!
