Trellix Launches Enhanced Email Security Cloud with Data Loss Prevention

By Stefania Viscusi

Trellix, a cybersecurity and extended detection and response (XDR) solutions provider, announced the global availability of Trellix Email Security Cloud, now integrated with advanced Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities. This enhanced offering is designed to protect organizations from the increasing threat of email-based data breaches -  external attacks, and internal data exfiltration.

Trellix’s Email Security Cloud offers multi-layered detection powered by Trellix Wise, an advanced AI-driven system that identifies and stops sophisticated threats before they can compromise an organization’s sensitive data.

The enhanced offering, with DLP features now integrated directly into the email security platform, means it defends against inbound cyber threats and prevents the loss of sensitive data through email mishandling or malicious exfiltration by insiders.

With the DLP integration, organizations prevent data mishandling with rules-based policy controls. Email administrators can monitor real-time data events through the solution’s intuitive cloud console and more quickly respond to potential data breaches. This is compared to traditional email security solutions that often focus solely on stopping external threats and not addressing outbound data risks.

“Email is the primary attack vector for threat actors and organizations’ riskiest channel for data loss,” said Gareth Maclachlan, Network and Collaboration Security GM, Trellix. “Trellix integrated our DLP capabilities into Trellix Email Security Cloud with the customer in mind. Our comprehensive solution proactively defends against inbound threats and outbound email-related data risks to enable customers to work securely while ensuring data compliance.”

Trellix Email Security Cloud also helps businesses maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. With pre-built reporting templates that streamline the process of demonstrating compliance with data protection regulations, it reduces the risk of fines from government agencies.
