Free Tool from Wing Security Offers Continuous SaaS Security Insights

By Greg Tavarez

SaaS has been a game-changer for many, and clearly for good reason. Its benefits include scalability, reduced maintenance costs and easy updates, to name a few. However, there are challenges when it comes to SaaS security posture. Such challenges include shared responsibility between providers and customers, data residency requirements, third-party risks, and other emerging threats.

To improve SaaS security, organizations should conduct regular assessments, implement strong access controls, encrypt data, monitor for anomalies and educate users. Or they can take a different approach and turn to Wing Security.

Wing Security is a provider of cybersecurity solutions, dedicated to protecting organizations from SaaS-related threats. With its technology and a team of expert researchers, Wing Security offers comprehensive security solutions tailored to the unique needs of each organization.

And Wing Security recently launched SaaS Pulse, a free tool for SaaS security management, offering organizations actionable insights and continuous oversight into their SaaS security posture.

One of its key features is a Dynamic Security Health Score, which provides a real-time overview of an organization's overall security health based on the MITRE CWSS framework. This score helps users quickly identify and prioritize the most critical security risks.

Another valuable feature is Contextual Threat Intelligence. This real-time newsfeed delivers up-to-date information on relevant security threats, supported by a team of dedicated analysts. This helps organizations stay informed about emerging threats and take proactive steps to protect their SaaS applications.

SaaS Pulse also includes a Deep App Discovery feature that analyzes an organization's entire SaaS stack. This feature helps uncover unauthorized SaaS applications (Shadow IT), risky user and app-to-app permissions, and other potential security vulnerabilities. By identifying these risks, organizations take steps to mitigate them and improve their overall security posture.

Finally, SaaS Pulse provides Prioritized SaaS risks and alerts. This feature categorizes risks and alerts based on their severity level to help IT teams determine which issues to address first.

Here’s how these features work in practice - SaaS Pulse constantly monitors over 40 critical vulnerabilities that can arise from using SaaS applications. It provides users with a detailed security assessment of their SaaS ecosystem, similar to a health check, based on the CWSS framework. This system converts complex security risks into a simple and understandable language, helping organizations prioritize their security efforts and address the most urgent threats.

“Wing’s new SaaS Pulse product offers CISOs a new tool to monitor their SaaS security posture,” said Galit Lubetzky Sharon, Wing Security’s CEO. “We believe every organization should at least have a basic understanding of their overall security posture with a quick way to identify and fix the most critical risks.”

As organizations continue to adopt more SaaS applications, the need for tools to manage and secure them will grow. The threat landscape and increasing regulatory requirements make SaaS Pulse a valuable asset for organizations.
