MSPs, as we know, play a critical role in supporting businesses that fall in a variety of risk categories. Technical and capability-centric risks include not having multi-factor authentication (MFA) on key accounts, end users misusing (or being misassigned) access privileges, teams exhibiting a lack of password hygiene, cyber awareness training or cyber insurance, and perhaps even endpoint detection and response (EDR) plans that don’t account for industry changes that are actively taking place (thus necessitating adaptations to security protocols).
Suffice it to say, that’s a lot of ground for MSPs to cover – and that’s not even a complete list, when it comes to the modern risk landscape. MSPs can (and do) take on such complexities when it comes to managing multiple customer environments and the many variables therein, but this responsibility simultaneously necessitates an even greater level of cybersecurity for their own respective operations. (After all, MSPs often have a high degree of access to their customers’ data and accounts and so on, marking them as attractive targets for attackers.)
The long-story-short of it, readers?
Businesses need MSPs, and MSPs need to ensure their own robust internal security measures are as accessible, effective and up-to-date as possible so they, in turn, can serve other businesses. It’s like the oxygen mask rule when flying on a plane; place your mask on first before attempting to help others, or else the risk of endangering yourself before you can even provide aid skyrockets.
Enter Guardz and the related news that dropped earlier this morning.
Guardz is a cybersecurity provider that’s on a mission to empower MSPs by proactively securing and insuring them against evolving threats. The holistic protections Guardz provides via its platform ensures that endpoints are consistently monitored, managed, and optimized to prevent attacks and mitigate future risks.
And the news at hand?
Today, Guardz announced the launch of its new (and free, notably) Community Shield plan for MSPs.
According to the official announcement, this Community Shield solution “is designed to help MSPs secure their internal operations with a free account for the Guardz platform,” as well as access to automatic detection and response capabilities (plus advanced tools via the Guardz Growth Hub).
“This offering is our commitment to supporting and protecting the MSP community, reflecting our appreciation for the partnership and trust we are building together,” explained Dor Eisner, CEO and co-founder of Guardz. “We've gained so much from this collaborative community, and now we want to give back. By providing the Guardz platform for free, we aim to support MSPs’ growth and successes while keeping their businesses secure. We believe that a secure MSP is better equipped to foster secure environments for their clients, creating a ripple effect of enhanced cybersecurity across the board and, ultimately, a safer digital world.”
