Ekinops Technology Drives Orange Business' New SD-WAN Service

By Greg Tavarez

The shift to cloud-based operations created the need for a reliable network infrastructure. In response, businesses have since turned to Software-Defined Wide Area Networks, SD-WAN, to optimize performance, security capabilities and cost. In fact, according to MarketsandMarkets, the SD-WAN market share is expected to reach $13.7 billion by 2027.

But what's so great about SD-WAN?

Well importantly, SD-WAN is a technology that allows enterprises to use multiple connections, including broadband internet and private lines, to create an overlay network. This approach can improve application performance, reliability and security compared to traditional wide area networks.

To that end, Orange Business, a global digital services provider, recently announced it will use Ekinops technology to power its new SD-WAN Essentials service. The offering aims to simplify cloud adoption for businesses by improving network performance and security.

Ekinops is a French company that specializes in optical transport and enterprise connectivity solutions. The company’s products are used by telecom operators and enterprises around the world.

Orange Business is a subsidiary. The company offers a range of digital services, including cloud computing, cybersecurity and network solutions. Its SD-WAN Essentials service is a managed service designed to give companies access to core SD-WAN features without the complexity often associated with such networks. The service will offer businesses control, reliability, performance, application-level routing, and security.

At the core of SD-WAN Essentials is Ekinops’ SD-WAN Xpress technology. This platform allows for intelligent routing and reduces the number of devices needed, which in turn lowers energy consumption.

"We are proud to support the Orange Business new SD-WAN Essentials offering, which enables enterprise digital transition while minimizing its carbon footprint," said Didier Brédy, CEO of Ekinops.

By selecting Ekinops’ technology, Orange Business is likely hopeful to differentiate its SD-WAN offering in a crowded marketplace. The company believes that SD-WAN Essentials will appeal to businesses of all sizes, particularly those seeking to modernize their networks and accelerate cloud adoption.
