Nitel Strengthens Network Security for SMBs with Secure SD-WAN

By Greg Tavarez

Businesses sometimes struggle to keep up with what seems like an always-growing maze of their own networks. This complexity stems from multiple factors, like the exploding number of devices – think laptops, phones, tablets – needing access, and the shift to cloud-based services. Managing all these connections and ensuring they're secure is a constant tightrope walk.

On one side, businesses need their networks to be flexible and adaptable, but strong security measures can make them feel rigid. On the other hand, keeping costs down can mean skimping on security tools, which leaves them vulnerable to cyberattacks.

The pressure is on to maintain reliable network performance – downtime can cost a fortune. Nitel understands what businesses face and are on track to continue to provide best-of-breed capabilities through its NaaS solutions.

Nitel's NaaS solutions address the complexity of managing business networks by offering customizable network plans, fully managed services to free up internal IT staff, proactive monitoring for optimal performance and security and around-the-clock support from a dedicated team.

To continue accelerating growth of its network management and security solutions, Nitel recently announced it added Secure SD-WAN with Fortinet technology.

Fortinet SD-WAN tackles the complexities of managing business internet connections. It uses intelligent traffic steering to optimize bandwidth usage across different internet links. This means businesses use multiple connections, like cable and DSL, for better performance and cost-efficiency. Security is another key focus. Fortinet integrates security features directly into the SD-WAN solution, which removes the need for separate security appliances and simplifying management.

Small and mid-sized enterprise segments benefit from Nitel’s streamlined integration of SD-WAN and advanced security and remote access services. Why? Because it addresses their need for a solution that balances performance, security and ease of use without the complexities or resource demands often associated with securing a growing digital footprint.

“Our expanded SD-WAN portfolio ensures that regardless of size, industry or demands, there’s a solution that fits every organization,” said Mike Frane, Nitel’s chief product officer. “Having recently bolstered our managed and professional services capabilities through our recent acquisition of WAN Dynamics, small to mid-sized enterprise customers stand to benefit from Fortinet’s industry-leading solutions delivered and managed by Nitel’s award-winning team.”

The partnership builds upon Nitel’s global SASE services announced last summer and is complemented by deep technical, management and support capabilities brought to Nitel through its acquisition of WAN Dynamics.
