Lansweeper Propels MSPs Forward with New Services

By Greg Tavarez

IT departments face a multifaceted challenge: Namely, the split between safeguarding digital assets while embracing innovation. This dual responsibility is amplified by an evolving landscape characterized by escalating cyber threats, driven by technological advancements and increasingly sophisticated malicious actors. Additionally, the complexities of digital transformation, cloud migration, data governance, and regulatory compliance, such as GDPR and NIS 2, further complicate the IT management terrain.

In fact, Gartner, a research firm, projects a global expenditure increase of over 14% in 2024, reaching $215 billion. This surge reflects the prioritization of security across industries. Because these challenges are recognized, many businesses turn to MSPs for their expertise. These specialized entities offer comprehensive solutions and support.

Forecasts mirror this growing reliance, with the global MSP market projected to reach nearly $380 billion by 2027. This demand highlights a shift toward external partnerships as businesses increasingly seek to strengthen their cyber defenses.

To address this need, Lansweeper, known for its expertise in technology asset intelligence, announced investments in services, support and tools designed to equip MSPs with its IT asset discovery and inventory solutions.

The company is improving its channel team with additional MSP specialists, introducing a pay-as-you-go pricing model, launching a new multi-site management portal and providing other resources tailored to MSP needs.

Lansweeper's asset discovery and inventory solution offers a data foundation for various IT applications. By discovering all IT, OT, IoT and cloud assets, MSPs can create accurate proposals for clients. This accelerates sales cycles and reduces project risk through better understanding of client environments.

Leveraging Lansweeper data, MSPs can identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities for services like hardware/software asset management, CMDB data quality and cybersecurity for additional revenue streams.

The new multi-site portal represents a major update for MSPs because it allows them to group clients for a unified view of critical asset data across all locations. Within the portal, MSPs can access, filter and export data for faster problem identification and resolution. The portal also supports aggregated billing, cross-client reporting, patch management reports, custom views, asset lifecycle reports and antivirus reporting.

As for the new pay-as-you-go licensing model, this caters to MSPs because it allows them to pay monthly for scanned assets across each managed client installation without volume commitments or true-ups.

“Lansweeper has a long-proven track record of helping IT service providers grow their business while decreasing overall costs,” said Christina Klein, Lansweeper’s Vice President of Global Channel Partners. “By partnering with Lansweeper, technology service providers gain not only a powerful asset discovery solution, but also a strategic ally committed to their success.”

A good example of what happens when partnering with Lansweeper is B2B Cyber Secure, which Martin Dubreuil, Director Business Services at B2B Cyber Secure, explains.

“Partnering with Lansweeper has been instrumental in transforming our managed IT services,” said Dubreuil. “With Lansweeper’s comprehensive toolset and dedicated support, we’ve efficiently managed our customers’ IT environments, driving growth and optimizing operations. We’ve recently started using the new multi-site management features and are foreseeing even greater efficiency and enhanced service delivery soon.”

Lansweeper plans to further expand the portal's capabilities later in the year.
