Tangoe Enhances Private Cloud Expense Management

By Stefania Viscusi

Technology expense and asset management solution provider Tangoe announced an expansion of its portfolio of offerings with the launch of a hybrid cloud expense management platform. This integrates Tangoe's public cloud visibility and control features with private cloud services offered by VMware.

The integration also marks a significant milestone by allowing businesses to efficiently track and allocate costs for both public and private cloud infrastructures through the Tangoe One Cloud solution.

Managing costs associated with private cloud infrastructure has unique challenges due to manual processes and the complexity of various ancillary expenditures related to data centers, power utilities, physical and virtual servers, software, and labor.

With Tangoe's AI-powered cloud expense management platform, it's possible to address these challenges as it unifies siloed information and leverages vast datasets to deliver insights and allocate expenses back to different departments, projects, and lines of business.

The cost allocation plays a pivotal role in calculating cloud Return on Investment (ROI) and empowers IT and financial leaders to gauge the value of their technology investments.

“Innovation thrives when organizations have transparency into their entire cloud estate, enabling them to harness insights for cost reductions and more strategic investments. As a frontrunner in multi-cloud visibility and automated hybrid cloud expense management, Tangoe empowers companies to elevate and extend their cloud innovation,” said Zeus Kerravala, Founder and Principal Analyst at ZK Research, in response to Tangoe’s announcement.

With all direct and indirect private cloud costs now in a unified view, it is now possible to automate the management of cloud spend, so businesses can optimize their investments effectively.

Tangoe's solution also facilitates a holistic view of both private and public cloud spend, empowering users to compare costs, delve into granular breakdowns, and generate customized reports.

“There’s a renewed interest in private cloud infrastructure as CIOs are deciding where their new Generative AI workloads should reside and realizing that price disparities between public and private clouds are leveling off,” said Chris Ortbals, Chief Product Officer, Tangoe. “To effectively navigate cloud strategy decisions, business leaders need an intimate understanding of their total cost of ownership, and Tangoe gives them the AI intelligence to compare public and private cloud costs, making those decisions with confidence.”
