N-able Launches Managed Detection and Response Service

By Greg Tavarez

The cybersecurity talent gap has widened, creating a golden opportunity for MSPs. The growing global shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals is expected to fuel demand for managed detection and response, or MDR, services in 2024. This translates to an opportunity for MSPs, as evidenced by a recent Canalys report predicting that the cybersecurity services market will surpass sales of cybersecurity technology. Managed security services and integration services are poised for the fastest growth within this market.

Capitalizing on this trend, N-able Inc., a global software company providing remote monitoring and management, data protection as-a-service and security solutions to IT service providers, steps in with a solution.

N-able expanded its security offerings with the launch of N-able Managed Detection and Response. This platform combines a security operations platform with expert services, with an end-goal to help MSPs elevate the cybersecurity standard for SMBs.

N-able MDR features deep visibility and collaboration among MSPs, end users, and, when necessary, security analysts. All stakeholders gain real-time access to view and collaborate on security events, promoting transparency and enhanced security. The scalable solution caters to both small and large MSPs with pricing geared toward profitability. Additionally, MSSPs or those with robust security expertise can utilize the platform independently to deliver in-house managed security services.

“The level of transparency and collaboration that N-able MDR creates between an MSP and its clients is a unique value on its own,” said John Pagliuca, N-able President and CEO. “When you add the third layer of expertise from the highly skilled analysts available through the service and all the capabilities that the platform provides, it offers a breadth and depth of security operations that have simply been out of reach for all but the world’s largest organizations

N-able MDR equips organizations with tools to tackle advanced cyber threats, minimize vulnerabilities and manage complex IT environments. The solution integrates with existing security and IT tools, leveraging artificial intelligence to detect hidden threats. Automated and human-powered response capabilities go beyond mere alerts, ensuring swift remediation.

Moreover, effective threat hunting, vulnerability management, dark web monitoring and compliance support empower MSPs to bolster cybersecurity for small and mid-sized organizations. This offering allows MSPs to deliver effective cybersecurity solutions to public and private sector businesses that often lack the resources and technology for advanced defenses.

“Alert fatigue with increasing threats, growing regulations, and staffing challenges mean organizations need more help than ever and this gives them that critical lifeline,” said Pagliuca.

N-able MDR is available immediately for partners located in North America and will be available to EMEA partners in the first quarter of 2024, with other regions to follow.

Taking place February 13-15 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, MSP Expo is the premier event for MSPs, offering a three-day experience combining conference education focused on growth strategies, networking opportunities, an exhibit hall full of the latest technologies and solutions to help MSPs build their businesses.
