Many businesses (from small startups to large enterprises) turn to MSP Expo Platinum sponsor Ooma for their comprehensive suite of advanced voice and collaboration features that empower organizations to streamline their communication processes and enhance productivity. A few standout features include high-definition voice quality, virtual receptionist services, and call routing and forwarding.
Ooma also serves as an efficient alternative to traditional copper/POTS lines, which are becoming increasingly outdated and expensive. Ooma's line replacement solutions, such as Ooma AirDial, not only offer cost savings but also bring flexibility and scalability to businesses.
Ooma gives businesses a way to provide a seamless and professional communication experience for their clients and employees, thus improving customer service and internal collaboration while improving cost savings.
Adding to its portfolio of services, Ooma has now acquired 2600Hz Inc., a provider of modern and flexible business communications applications targeted at resellers and carriers. The acquisition marks a strategic move to augment the capabilities of 2600Hz, combining Ooma's proprietary intellectual property with their existing offerings to create more potent, scalable and open communication solutions for the industry.
2600Hz is known for its global customer base and its utilization of Kazoo, an open-source communication system, as well as a range of proprietary applications accessible through open APIs. 2600Hz's suite of services and products helps streamline communication infrastructure, enabling businesses to integrate voice, messaging, and collaboration tools into a single, cloud-based platform.
The acquisition gives a boost to Ooma's integrated business services and opens new horizons for Ooma by expanding its customer base to include service providers and resellers who leverage 2600Hz for their tailored services.
For 2600Hz, this acquisition is set to reinforce their solution with the advantages of Ooma's cost-effective telecom infrastructure, scalability and applications across various platforms, including mobile, web and desktop.
“This acquisition is complementary to our strategy to extend our leadership in serving business customers, both directly and now through other service providers, and it is expected to accelerate overall growth of Ooma and the reach of our solutions,” said Eric Stang, CEO of Ooma.
Ooma acquired 2600Hz for approximately $33 million in cash, subject to customary purchase price adjustments. 2600Hz is expected to add approximately $7 million in annual recurring revenue to Ooma.
The transaction was completed Oct. 20. The purchase price was partially funded by a new $30 million revolving line of credit facility with Citizens Bank, N.A. Additionally, following the closing, certain former 2600Hz employees who join Ooma will be granted equity awards under Ooma’s 2015 Equity Incentive Plan, subject to vesting conditions.
Ooma is a Platinum sponsor of MSP Expo, taking place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, February 13-15, 2024. Part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW, MSP Expo is the premier event for MSPs, offering a three-day experience combining conference education, networking opportunities, an exhibit hall full of the latest technologies and solutions to help MSPs build their business, and more. Ooma will be in booth #539 in the exhibit hall.
