Blackpoint Cyber Expands Security with Cloud Response for Google Workspace

By Stefania Viscusi

Safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring the security of cloud-based platforms is of paramount importance today. In an era where data breaches and cyberattacks are all too common, a robust cloud security solution that empowers organizations to proactively protect their data while maintaining the integrity of their cloud-based platforms is key.

Blackpoint Cyber, a SaaS-based Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution provider has announced it is expanding its cloud security product, Cloud Response, to now include Google Workspace to provide an integrated security solution for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace users.

Cloud Response for Microsoft 365 was introduced in June 2022 and will now include Google Workspace so organizations that rely on either of the platforms can have the comprehensive security needed today.

Key detection features include:

  • Malicious Google Account Login Analytics: Cloud Response provides valuable insights into login activities, enabling users to identify suspicious activities like logins from unapproved countries or suspicious logins.
  • Malicious Gmail Detections: Cloud Response detects malicious Gmail activities, such as the creation of suspicious email filter rules or external email forwarding rules.
  • Immediate Response: Upon detecting any malicious activities, Blackpoint's 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) springs into action, ensuring that threats are addressed promptly and effectively.

“We disable accounts when malicious activity is detected on behalf of the partner to keep their information and data secure from evolving threats. MSPs can rest easy knowing that they are shielded against even the most sophisticated cyberthreats allowing them to focus on their core operations and serving the businesses they oversee,” said Wilfredo Santiago, SVP, response operations center, at Blackpoint.

As organizations increasingly rely on cloud-based platforms for their operations, having a robust security solution like Cloud Response has become a necessity to safeguard sensitive information and maintain trust.

“We've observed that cloud threats occur at almost double the rate of on-premises threats. Moreover, Cloud Response for Google Workspace enriches the data pool for our SOC team and goes beyond built-in security measures, enabling more informed and contextual responses,” said  Xavier Salinas, chief technology officer at Blackpoint.
