TeamViewer and Ivanti Deliver Unified Endpoint Management

TeamViewer and Ivanti Deliver Unified Endpoint Management

By Greg Tavarez

Managing and securing remote devices is a multifaceted challenge many IT teams face due to several complexities. The landscape of remote devices is diverse, including various hardware types and operating systems, each requiring different configurations and security measures. These devices are often dispersed across different geographic locations, making physical access and maintenance challenging.

Ensuring secure network connectivity, protecting data and implementing policies on these devices adds another layer of complexity. Additionally, remote devices are more susceptible to security threats, requiring endpoint protection and regular updates.

The task is daunting, no doubt. So, to help IT teams effectively manage and secure all endpoints, TeamViewer, a global provider of solutions for remote connectivity and digitalizing workplaces, announced a new partnership with Ivanti, a tech company specializing in elevating and securing the concept of "Everywhere Work."

This partnership offers TeamViewer Remote and TeamViewer Tensor customers the capability to oversee their diverse array of devices from a unified platform. It provides IT professionals with comprehensive device management, including large-scale onboarding, monitoring of mobile devices running iOS or Android, remote deployment of company profiles, access rights and predefined apps. This simplifies inventory management, device configuration and troubleshooting of IT-related issues, helping prevent downtime.

This collaboration will utilize Ivanti's advanced mobile device management capabilities, specifically Ivanti Neurons for MDM. Ivanti Neurons for MDM enhances TeamViewer's current Remote Monitoring and Management solution, which is already a top choice for managing various devices regardless of their operating systems or manufacturers. With the inclusion of iOS and Android devices, TeamViewer RMM now encompasses a wide range of equipment, including traditional IT devices, mobile phones, tablets, wearables and edge devices.

"Ivanti's mobile device management capabilities, when integrated with our existing RMM offering, will empower IT teams to effectively control and monitor their mobile devices, ultimately leading to enhanced productivity and reduced operational challenges," said Frank Ziarno, Vice President Product Management at TeamViewer.

The collaboration also enhances security by enabling remote deployment of policies and patches globally, enforcing security measures such as PIN, biometric authentication, or two-factor authentication.

It facilitates reliable data backup, remote device locking, and control regardless of the device's location. Additionally, it aids in ensuring compliance by tracking and logging device location and usage, thus providing full auditability to mitigate legal risks.

The goal?

To offer businesses a comprehensive perspective on their desktop and mobile IT assets, complete with tailored security, compliance and management functionalities, all at scale. This expansion offers a comprehensive perspective of the entire IT environment.

"By combining TeamViewer's proven remote monitoring and management capabilities with Ivanti's award winning mobile device management, we are poised to deliver an unparalleled experience for businesses seeking comprehensive IT oversight," said Michelle Hodges, Senior Vice President, Global Channels and Alliances at Ivanti.

The MDM solution is accessible to all TeamViewer customers through three different tiers: Essential, Advanced, and Enterprise.
