ITEXPO and MSP Expo Sponsor Telesystem Brings Cybersecurity Awareness to Texas

By Greg Tavarez

“When we purchased Threat Protector in August 2022 and entered the cybersecurity marketplace, we didn’t want cybersecurity to become just another product that we offered; we wanted it to be the glue that helped to combine the rest of our solution portfolio.”

That is the main objective of Telesystem Chief Revenue Officer Bruce Wirt and the rest of the Telesystem team when it comes to the cybersecurity space.

The provider of communication, managed networking and low-latency dedicated high-speed internet access backed by always-on DDoS protection and 24/7 U.S.-based support team recently expanded its services and network into Texas. With a major network point of presence in Dallas, Telesystem strengthened its 100G network to deliver more robust and scalable solutions as well as provide its cybersecurity solutions to Texas business.

With its foot in the cybersecurity space (and knowing businesses are in various cybersecurity battles), why not use one of the bigger stages in the state of Texas, where the company has a stronger presence now, to help bring more awareness to cybersecurity?

Good question.

So, Telesystem is set to host the final #HackersSuck Cybersecurity Summit of the year on Oct. 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

The summit will focus on dynamic cybersecurity challenges. The Dallas event, featuring keynote speaker Scott Augenbaum, retired FBI agent and cybercrime expert, aims to arm attendees with insights into emerging threats and practical defense strategies. Augenbaum's insights are drawn from his responses to countless cyber incidents and delivery of numerous computer intrusion threat briefings.

Participants can also engage in a panel discussion with cybersecurity experts, learning about common security omissions and affordable solutions. The cybersecurity experts will highlight common oversights often made by business leaders when securing their networks and data.

Telesystem also wants to show its commitment to the local Dallas community on top of the cybersecurity industry. To do that, Telesystem is in a partnership with GameChangers and will match any donations up to $5,000 to promote diversity in the cybersecurity industry.

GameChangers is a Dallas-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting diversity in the cybersecurity industry. The charity initiative offers mentorship opportunities to middle and high schoolers, introducing them to the cybersecurity world.

“Business owners don’t always realize that educating their employee base on cybersecurity threats is the single most important way to protect themselves. Any employee that uses any device connected to the Internet is a target for a hacker,” said Wirt. “Our summits are designed to illustrate the potential exposure for businesses and offer affordable solutions that keep organizations connected and protected.”

Also, there can’t be an event happening at a football stadium without any football activities, right?

In addition to cyber education, in-person attendees will get to enter the Dallas Cowboys playing field through the locker room tunnel, complete with special effects. They’ll get to meet with Dallas Cowboys mascot Rowdy, and participate in their Pass, Punt, Kick contest.

In-person attendees will also be provided with breakfast and lunch. For those unable to attend in person, attendees can register to join the event virtually.

Seating is limited to the free event. Business owners, executives and IT pros looking to attend are encouraged to register early.

The summit series will continue into 2024, with a mission to educate on the growing cyber threat landscape and contribute to local communities.

Telesystem is a sponsor of ITEXPO 2024 and MSP Expo 2024 taking place in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, February 13-15, 2024. Part of the #TECHSUPERSHOW, ITEXPO combines educational conference programming with a robust exhibit hall, networking events, and other activities, bringing together buyers and providers of business technology products and services. MSP Expo is the premier event for MSPs, offering a three-day experience combining conference education, networking opportunities, an exhibit hall full of the latest technologies and solutions to help MSPs build their business, and more. Along with ITEXPO and MSP Expo, #TECHSUPERSHOW includes IoT Evolution Expo, Future of Work Expo, Enterprise Metaverse Expo, Generative AI Expo, and more. Telesystem will be in Booth #823 in the exhibit hall.
