Lenovo Customers Benefit from CyberArk's Advanced Endpoint Privilege Controls

By Greg Tavarez

Ninety percent of organizations encountered at least one identity-related breach in the past year, as per the 2023 Trends in Securing Digital Identities report recently published by the Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA). This indicates a 7.1% YoY increase. Additionally, of the organizations affected by identity-based breaches during the last year, 68% faced direct business consequences, with the most substantial impact being the cost associated with recovery. Other consequences ranged from diverting focus from core business operations to damaging the business's reputation.

The escalating number and complexity of identities have directly contributed to the surge in identity-related breaches, and this evolution is altering the landscape of identity management.

Aware of this alteration is CyberArk. The identity security company provides comprehensive security offerings for any identity – human or machine – across business applications, distributed workforces hybrid cloud environments and throughout the DevOps lifecycle.

For example, CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager, as part of the CyberArk Identity Security Platform, implements flexible and intuitive policy-based endpoint privilege management on Windows, macOS and Linux. The solution offers advanced capabilities, including enforcing least privilege, removing local admin rights, defending against ransomware, enhancing visibility with policy audits, and preventing credential theft. It also enables detection and blocking of attempted theft of OS credentials and browsers, among other features.

The CyberArk Identity Security Platform extends intelligent privilege controls to all identities, human and machine alike, providing continuous threat detection and prevention throughout the entire identity lifecycle. With this comprehensive platform, organizations can embrace Zero Trust principles and least privilege, enjoying complete visibility and enabling secure access to any resource from anywhere, for every identity.

Now, CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager will be featured in the Lenovo ThinkShield security portfolio. Lenovo customers will benefit from CyberArk’s SaaS-based solution, which enables organizations to implement foundational endpoint security controls. These controls aim to block and contain potential cyber attacks on the endpoint and enforce least privilege to help reduce the risk of information being stolen or encrypted and held for ransom.

"Security by Design" is the foundation on which Lenovo builds its customizable security platform. The addition of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager within the portfolio provides customers with out-of-the-box policies and integrations with other endpoint and network security solutions, identity products, SIEMs and help desk platforms.

“Together, Lenovo and CyberArk are closing a gap in endpoint security that traditional endpoint protection tools are not designed to solve,” said Chris Moore, senior vice president of global channels at CyberArk. “As part of the ThinkShield portfolio, Lenovo customers gain a security-first approach to reducing risk and enforcing least privilege on the endpoint.”

CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager will be available through Lenovo’s network of global sales and partners.
