Hughes Introduces SASE Solution with Help from Netskope

By Greg Tavarez

Organizations often grapple with the task of protecting sensitive information from potential breaches and unauthorized access. They need to strike a delicate balance between enabling seamless access for authorized users and fortifying defense mechanisms to deter unauthorized intrusions.

However, the mounting struggle lies not only in the importance of safeguarding data but also in managing the numerous tools necessary for this purpose. With encryption, access control, intrusion detection and a host of other solutions, organizations find themselves in a fight with the complexity and diversity of these tools.

Secure Access Service Edge, or SASE, can assist organizations that struggle with tools management. By consolidating various security services into a unified cloud-based platform, SASE simplifies the security infrastructure, improves operational efficiency and offers centralized management and policy enforcement. SASE also allows organizations to dynamically adapt their security capabilities, effectively managing the tools needed for safeguarding sensitive data.

And SASE is coming to Hughes customers.

Hughes, in collaboration with Netskope, a provider of security service edge solutions, announced a strategic partnership to deliver a comprehensive SASE solution to Hughes customers. The Hughes Managed SASE solution combines the expertise of Hughes in managed services with Netskope's SSE capabilities.

"This new partnership between Hughes and Netskope brings together industry-leading pedigrees to deliver a fully managed, full-stack SASE platform," said Dave Rogers, Senior Vice President Global Alliances and Channel Sales, Netskope. "Our partnership is focused on helping to accelerate digital transformation and safely enable innovations such as generative AI, all while preserving network performance and business productivity."

Hughes specializes in providing comprehensive solutions for enterprises. Their managed services encompass a wide range of areas, including network connectivity, security and cloud services. By leveraging their deep understanding of technology and industry best practices, Hughes helps organizations optimize their operations, enhance productivity and ensure the reliability and security of their networks.

Netskope’s SSE offerings cover cloud access security, data loss prevention, threat protection and visibility into cloud and web traffic. By integrating advanced technologies and providing granular visibility, Netskope enables organizations to securely adopt cloud services, prevent data breaches and ensure compliance. Their cloud-native approach ensures scalability, flexibility and adaptability to evolving security needs.

Bundling SD-WAN with cloud-delivered security features, including cloud access security broker, secure web gateways, firewall-as-a-service and Zero Trust Network Access, Hughes Managed SASE provides the necessary security and network performance required in today's business landscape. Options such as managed detection and response and round-the-clock protection from their security operations center gives Hughes SASE customers early threat detection, incident response and prioritized alerts for enhanced security measures.

"Hughes Managed SASE makes it turn-key to manage company data securely, wherever it's transmitted across a growing perimeter of endpoints that employees need to access in the office, on the road and remotely," said Dan Rasmussen, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Division, Hughes.

The solution offers enterprise-level security at a budget-friendly price point and is geared toward small and mid-sized enterprises in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
