Axcient and ConnectWise are Protecting MSPs with New BCDR Integration

By Alex Passett

Axcient – with its platform for comprehensive, yet easy-to-use business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) solutions for MSPs – announced the integration of its Axcient x360Recover with the ConnectWise RMM (a.k.a remote monitoring and management) software with the goal of simplifying BCDR initiatives and providing the ConnectWise customer base with more choice for their cloud-based, remote backup needs. (And all from a single, convenient vendor.)

Per Rod Mathews, Chief Executive Officer at Axcient:

“Axcient helps MSPs improve data protection and reduce business downtime with a BCDR solution that’s easy to install, configure and manage. With this new integration, MSPs can consolidate BCDR management easily through their ConnectWise RMM dashboard, and customers of the ConnectWise Co-Managed Backup service can simplify their operations. This strategic collaboration is a win not just for partners, but for the entire IT channel.”

And per Ameer Karim, EVP and General Manager of ConnectWise’s Unified Monitoring and Management:

“We are excited to add this capability from Axcient to our backup offering; the seamless integration addresses the needs of many MSPs looking to offer more advanced BCDR without increasing their overhead. With Axcient x3650Recover in this mix, MSPs get an integrated view of backup solutions across multiple clients for better monitoring and management. Our NOC services also provide the expertise to offload most of the labor associated with backup and disaster recovery tasks.”

In more detail, huge benefits of this Axcient-ConnectWise integration include:

  • Simplified management from one dashboard: MSPs shouldn’t have to juggle multiple dashboards; Axcient and ConnectWise have consolidated that. MSPs can view and monitor alerts, verify backups, view thorough, automated backup validation results, manage recoveries, and respond to tickets through the ConnectWise RMM.
  • Turn-key appliances: MSPs can select from a wide range of Axcient turn-key appliances (which can be installed at customers’ sites by non-technical staff). And, to leave no stone unturned, Axcient also enables MSPs to deploy Axcient software and actively reuse many existing appliances they may have deployed for other BCDR solutions.
  • Additional Axcient x360Recover + ConnectWise supportive perks: For MSPs’ ongoing BCDR testing needs (and reliable tech support), it’s easy to leverage Axcient’s ongoing backup verification, troubleshooting and ticketing services. Moreover, ConnectWise’s Co-Managed Backup simplifies BCDR with expertise via agent pre-deployment services, agent installation and configuration.
  • Growth opportunities from streamlined MSP operations: Strong integrations (not unlike the latest from Axcient and ConnectWise) enable MSPs’ technology stacks to work more efficiently, paving the way for less overhead, faster recovery times, improved margins and sustainably higher customer satisfaction.

“This is a winning choice for all parties involved,” Axcient’s Rod Matthews added. “Those seeking cost-effective, end-to-end supported BCDR solutions can now access them in order to provide better operational visibility and keep our clients secure with top-notch services that don’t necessitate adding in-house staff. This is data protection at its finest.”
