Gilat Accepts Managed Services Extension with Mexican MNO

Gilat Accepts Managed Services Extension with Mexican MNO

By Luke Bellos

Global satellite networking service provider Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. recently announced  a 12- month extension to provide managed services for a 4G cellular backhaul project with an unnamed mobile network operator (MNO) in Mexico. As part of this extension, Gilat will offer end-to-end technical guidance to guarantee customers have quality network coverage, while also providing disaster recovery services for remote regions of the country.

Network connectivity is now a critical component to how we live and work in the modern world. However, fiber optic connectivity is not always an option for less developed regions, despite citizens within those areas still needing coverage. The unnamed MNO previously invested in Gilat’s transportable VSATs solutions, making it possible to provide coverage without massive infrastructure projects.

“This customer has extended its managed services 4G cellular backhaul project with us due to the value provided by Gilat’s comprehensive end-to-end service and our local presence in the region,” said Tobias Dezordi, Gilat’s Regional Vice President for Latin America. “Ongoing business with industry leaders is a testament to Gilat's technological superiority, as well as to our expertise in delivering highly reliable services that meet rigorous SLAs.”

Providing access to advanced networking capabilities is a top priority for many nations, especially for those with large distances between dense populations. With this extension, Mexican citizens in remote locations can remain connected from wherever they may be.
