OptConnect Announces Acquisition of Premier Wireless Solutions

By Luke Bellos

Managed wireless service provider OptConnect recently announced the acquisition of Premier Wireless Solutions (“PWS”), an IoT network solutions developer based out of San Jose, California.

As part of the acquisition, the two companies will combine resources and technical expertise to diversify services for customers, enhance product portfolios, and expand global presence into new territories.

“Having the combined power and momentum of what our individual organizations and teams have built over the last 10+ years coming together will strengthen our united value proposition and connectivity solution stack for the IoT market,” said Chris Baird, CEO of OptConnect.

Although PWS will be fully owned by OptConnect, the company will still retain its original name and San Jose office building, but as a separate OptConnect brand. Additionally, PWS founder will take on the role of President of the PWS business unit.

“We are excited to join the OptConnect family,” said Giacomini. “They have built an incredible fully managed solution for their customers and now that we can add our solutions, services, global carrier integrations, and hardware options into the mix we will provide a greater spectrum of options for customers.”

With MSP adoption on the rise, as well as the more frequent utilization of IoT technologies among businesses across the business spectrum, this partnership will likely be mutually beneficial for both companies. Because customers are prone to turn to one-stop-shops for their professional IT needs, the consolidation of talent between OptConnect and PWS could potentially make the unified organization a dominating force in the increasingly competitive managed services sector.
