The Growing Importance of MSPs In the Hybrid Era

By Luke Bellos

It’s safe to assume remote work is now a permanent fixture in the modern working world. Physical office settings are no longer a necessity for full productivity. Thanks to high speed internet connectivity, collaboration tools, cloud data storage, and advancements in AI/automation, any sized organization can function effectively from virtually anywhere.

Installing the proper infrastructure for remote work is a relatively straightforward process, but managing remote work activity, once live, is a whole other ballgame. In fact, maintaining remote setups requires a great deal of work behind the scenes to function effectively and securely. For instance, remote workforces require business leaders to devise new strategies for assessing employee activity from distanced locations. Heightened security measures are also a necessity for remote setups, especially as ransomware continues to run rampant across the business world, as well as unsecure work practices from negligent employees. The benefits of remote activity certainly outweigh the negatives, but even the best systems available still have vulnerabilities

Luckily, managed service providers solve most of the common headaches associated with this new era of work, which is a major factor as to why MSP adoption is on the rise. IT management is a monumental task, and many small and midsized companies simply don’t have the resources or knowledge to monitor cyber threats, troubleshoot technical issues, integrate complex software, and other related tasks. With MSPs, IT concerns can be left to the experts, while business leaders can focus attention on growth and profit.

Investing in managed services is not for simply shifting technical responsibilities to more experienced professionals. MSPs should be viewed as a critical insurance measure to provide the most extreme levels of IT protection against existing and future threats.
