New ISG Report Finds Businesses Transitioning to Permanent Hybrid Models

By Luke Bellos

Information Services Group (ISG) recently released the 2021 ISG Provider Lens™ Future of Work – Services and Solutions report, which uncovers how enterprises are transforming workplace operations to meet the new demands of both customers and employees.

According to the results of this year’s report, evidence shows enterprises are welcoming hybrid work culture as a permanent fixture, and are working with service providers to ensure new infrastructure will support workforces outside of physical office environments.

“U.S. companies increasingly are working with their service providers to enable hybrid work,” said Dee Anthony, leader, ISG Future Workplace Solutions in the U.S. “Enterprises and providers are building deeper partnerships to frame workplace transformation strategies and manage increasingly diverse technology ecosystems.”

While the pandemic certainly accelerated the adoption of remote and hybrid work culture, the business world would have likely seen this switch anyway, as video conferencing and remote functionality have seen a dramatic rise in quality over the last decade. Although not every business is embracing this new way of working, ISG found that 72% of surveyed US companies see virtual collaboration tools as a top priority for investing.

This appears to be great news for managed services providers. As more enterprises accept the direction the modern workforce is moving toward, MSPs have an excellent opportunity to grow their customer bases, as well as offer advanced solutions, such as AI enhancements, to increase functionality and reduce operational costs. In fact, the ISG report found that between 20% to 50% of US-based MSPs have increased their engagement in transformation consulting.
