Datto Introduces New Enhancements to Autotask PSA

By Luke Bellos

Cloud-based software and security solutions provider Datto has upgraded its Autotask PSA software with additional capabilities to help MSPs deliver co-managed services.

The demand for managed services has exploded over the last few years, which means competing MSPs are stepping up their game to secure market leadership. This has been the case between Datto and competitor ServiceNow, one of the other leading forces in managed services that is surging in popularity for highly scaled organizations.

To further separate its offerings from the rest of the market, Datto has shared details with ChannelE2E about a number of co-manageable features in version 2021.2 of Autotask PSA. The latest version allows both MSPs and IT staff members to:

  • Manage visibility of internal costs and pricing details
  • Develop stronger communications through Co-Managed Primary Resource and Co-Managed Teams
  • Transfer tickets to shift responsibility/identify who is working on a task
  • Utilize email updates to identify incoming tickets.

Though the MSP marketplace will be a battleground in the coming years, Datto appears to be well positioned to claim a major stake. Just last month, Datto representatives revealed the company’s quarterly financial results, with revenue jumping 22% ($151 million) from the previous year. Datto also receives over $100,000 in recurring revenue from around $1,250 MSPs, an impressive increase from the 1,000 MSPs reported in the previous year.
