ScanSource and Intelisys Make Leadership Changes to Drive Channel Excellence and Strategic Growth

By Erik Linask

Telecom and cloud technologies distributor Intelisys has announced a significant leadership change. Effective immediately, John DeLozier, former 8x8 SVP of Global Channel Sales for 8x8, is stepping into the role of Intelisys president.  He is replacing Mark Morgan, who becomes the parent company ScanSource’s president, Global Business Strategy.

It’s a win-win for ScanSource and Intelisys.  DeLozier brings more than two decades of channel experience to Intelisys, having spent the past three years running 8x8’s growing channel business and, before that, holding senior roles at CenturyLink, Atos Unify, and Arrow S3, among others.  He knows the cloud communications space and knows Intelisys well.  Last year, Intelisys named 8x8 its supplier of the year for the second year in a row, at which time, DeLozier noted that, “Intelisys and its partner community have an exemplary industry reputation in the channel.”

“I have had the opportunity to work with Intelisys for many years, developing strong relationships with the team, while also seeing first-hand how they value their partners and are committed to their growth,” said DeLozier about his new appointment.  “I couldn’t be more excited to lead the exceptional Intelisys team during this exciting time of market growth.”

With that history between DeLozier and Intelisys, combined with DeLozier’s extensive experience in the space, this seems like a perfect match.  ScanSource CRO John Eldh agrees.

“John is a disrupter in cloud communications and a long-time supporter of the channel.  He knows the Intelisys business, our suppliers and our partners, and he is laser-focused on building our next chapter of innovation and growth,” said Eldh.  “There is tremendous opportunity available for our partners, and we are thrilled to have John at the helm of Intelisys.”

At the same time, Morgan – who has been with ScanSource since 2003 – goes back to the parent organization, where he most recently served as EVP of Strategy & Corporate Development before being named Intelisys president in February of 2020.  Morgan’s new role allows him to take an active role in defining and executing the company’s overarching strategic vision as its partners thrive as the business communications and technology space continues to go through a transition to cloud.

In fact, Morgan highlighted that strategic shift during his ITEXPO 2020 keynote, which he delivered just days after being named ScanSource

president.  Even then, his focus seemed to be on building strategy around the move to cloud to support the opportunity for its partners.  He played a key role in the Intelisys acquisition in back in 2016 and noted that the deal instantly made ScanSource a leader in the cloud market.

ScanSource CRO John Eldh sees this as an ideal role for Morgan based on his track record, experience with the channel, and dedication to ScanSource and its partners.

“Mark is an exceptional strategist – always looking ahead to ensure ScanSource is leading our partners in the direction of growth and opportunity,” said Eldh.  “Mark’s foresight and data-driven approach were instrumental in our acquisition of Intelisys and will now help us effectively align our strategy across the entire business. Mark’s expertise will be critical as we continue to define what’s next for ScanSource and our channel.”

Intelisys is a Platinum sponsor of ITEXPO 2022, taking place in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, February 8-11, 2022, where it will have a presence in Booth #128, surrounded by many of its partners.
