Almo Professional A/V Adds Control Systems as Fourth Managed Service

By Frank Griffin

Managed service providers (MSPs) are a critical part of today's digitally driven businesses and organizations. With so many different solutions available in the marketplace, making sense of it all can be difficult at best and extremely costly. The right MSP can provide the technologies you need for your particular organization, seamlessly integrated, so it can keep functioning without bringing everything to a standstill. The addition of control system services will give Almo Professional A/V its fourth managed service.

Almo Professional A/V is the largest professional audio visual distributor that also provides training and education, managed services, and technical support capabilities. This has allowed the company to give its customers full distribution experience, which now includes the Almo Control Service, along with Connect, Content, and Install in addition to the value added services it provides.

According to the company, it is the first distributor in the industry to create a path for resellers to expand their reach for growth and recurring revenue through managed services. In addressing the move by the company to go in this direction, Brian Rhatigan, director of business development for Almo Professional A/V, said, “We found that our partners were coming to us for control system hardware but then needed additional support to fill in the gaps and complete this part of the project. Since we are providing much of the hardware already, it makes sense to offer this service so our partners can provide a complete solution for their customers while creating a new recurring revenue stream for their businesses.”

With the Control Systems, Almo's partners will now be able to bid on different projects because they are able to deploy more services. This includes, AMX Rapid Project Manager (RPM), AMX Custom Projects, ClearOne DSP and Crestron.

The AMX RPM is a system that can be configured to quickly turn around projects at affordable price points. It is guided by Almo to ensure the process of setting up the technology happens quickly, easily and reliably. With the AMX Custom Projects, complex implementations can be carried out with span control and automation, switching, distributed audio and video, and technology management.

The ClearOne DSP brings in the experts at the company to ensure the audio systems are tuned and configured to produce the best quality sound for a project space. Crestron lets customers control their environment with a push of a button to initiate the automation and control functions for integrating systems such as AV, lighting, shading, security, BMS and HVAC for overall comfort.

The new Control System Almo has deployed is going to give integrators and installers additional tools to ensure the systems they deploy are always working as promised while finishing on time and on budget. According to the company, it can help improve customer service, reduce payroll and recruiting expenses, and grow revenue.
