CyrusOne Joins Amazon Web Services Partner Network

By Michael Guta

According to Gartner, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has more than 10 times the computing capacity in use than the next 14 largest cloud companies combined. Forming a partnership with the AWS therefore would give companies access to a large amount of resources and an increased customer base. CyrusOne has joined the AWS Partner Network to go after new opportunities, as well as being able to deliver dedicated network connections to AWS through AWS Direct Connect.

As the biggest cloud platform, AWS has more access and reliability, which is what customers are looking for to ensure availability of their services at all times. However, for many of these companies the issue of security is paramount, which requires dedicated networks that provide private connections to the AWS Cloud.

CyrusOne, specializes in highly reliable enterprise-class, carrier neutral data centers across the U.S., along with facilities in Europe and Asia. These facilities provide mission critical data center services that ensure continual operation of IT infrastructure for hundreds of enterprises, including nine of the Fortune 20 and more than 170 of the Fortune 1,000 companies.

Demand from organizations of this caliber requires 100 percent reliability and proven security protocols to ensure the safety of their data. With the AWS secure cloud services platform, CyrusOne will be able to provide compute power, database storage, content delivery and other functionality to help businesses scale and grow. It will achieve these services for its customers by offering connectivity to AWS Direct Connect, which will also include, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon DynamoDB.

"By offering AWS Direct Connect across all of our data center facilities, CyrusOne is yet again demonstrating its commitment to serving the increasingly diverse and expanding connectivity needs of our customers," said Josh Snowhorn, Vice President and General Manager of Interconnection, CyrusOne.

The AWS Partner Network helps organizations build successful companies based on AWS by providing them with business, technical, marketing and go to market (GTM) support. The APN platform has a tiered program made up of consulting and technology partners that help customers design, architect, build, migrate and manage their workloads and applications on AWS. This includes system integrators, strategic consultancies, agencies, manage service providers and value added resellers.

As a partner, CyrusOne will have access to all of these resources, making its 30 data centers around the world even more relevant in today's highly dynamic digital ecosystem.
