Barracuda Backup - Intronis MSP Edition Helps MSPs Prevent Customer Data Loss

By Rory Lidstone

Barracuda has a lot of experience simplifying IT with cloud-enabled solutions that help customers to protect their networks, applications and data, whether on premises or in the cloud. In fact, the company recently brought added protection to Microsoft Office 365 with Barracuda Essentials for Office 365. However, it’s Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda that is perhaps the company’s best known offering. As such, the news that the company has expanded the suite’s offerings is significant.

In particular, the company has branched out Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda with a subscription-based hardware solution called Barracuda Backup - Intronis MSP Edition. Available now in North America, the solution leverages Barracuda’s award-winning technology to provide MSPas with an appliance-based solution for their customers.

Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda features backup and data protection solutions specifically designed for managed service providers. Alongside the launch of its new solution, the company has also announced its new brand name: Intronis MSP Solutions by Barracuda. This new branding enables the solution to leverage Barracuda’s international brand recognition. This change comes several months after Barracuda announced the acquisition of Intronis.

"Proactively protecting a customer's business, and in particular its data, is fast becoming priority one for MSPs," said Rick Faulk, vice president and general manager of MSP Solutions at Barracuda. "Our new Barracuda Backup - Intronis MSP Edition marks the first milestone in our journey with Barracuda and expands our ability to serve as the MSP's single-source provider of data protection. Together with Barracuda and our channel partners, we are striving to meet the needs of customers an ensure no business fails due to data loss or an IT security breach."

Barracuda Backup - Intronis MSP Edition is a complete, subscription-based data protection solution that aims to simplify business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) service delivery for MSPs and IT service providers. With an eye on preventing customer data loss, the new appliance offers several key features like support for VMware for instant VM recovery, replication of images and files to the cloud, granular SharePoint recovery, data protection for Microsoft clusters, and instant hardware replacement bundled support.
