SYNNEX First to Join Verizon's New Value Added Distributor Program

By Rory Lidstone

Verizon Enterprise Solutions has introduced a new value added distributor program to make its enterprise technology services— including global networking and security business communications, IT solutions and managed services—more widely accessible. SYNNEX Corporation is the first value added distributor signed up to offer this new distribution model.

Under this program, SYNNEX plans to offer Verizon's Rapid Response Retainer as part of the SYNNEX portfolio of connectivity, security, cloud and collaboration services that the company already provides to its expansive network of solution providers. Rapid Response Retainer enables organizations to respond immediately to a security incident. In particular, it provides digital forensics, incident response and IT investigations at a moment's notice.

Since SYNNEX is able to add a wide range of Verizon’s technology to its product and services portfolio, it’s likely more Verizon offerings will appear in the SYNNEX portfolio in the near future.

In addition, this distribution model allows Verizon technology to be wrapped around SYNNEX solutions, creating a complete IT services package that resellers can then position to end customers. For Verizon, this means being able to reach new customers quickly, while allowing customers to access Verizon’s IT services but sill continuing to work with their trusted IT services advisor.

Late last year, SYNNEX partnered with Commvault in an effort to boost SYNNEX’s cloud strategy. In particular, SYNNEX sought to support its MSP customers by aggregating Commvault’s data management and cloud data protection offerings to them.

"Security is critical to every business, but breach response requires a specialized skill set that few companies possess—that's why they need to be able to quickly obtain high-level expertise when an incident occurs," said Tim Acker, vice president, mobility and connected solutions, SYNNEX Corporation. "Verizon's Rapid Response Retainer addresses that need and is an ideal fit for our customers. Moreover, our new value added distributor relationship makes it easy and profitable for our resellers to add depth to their offerings by combining Verizon's expansive portfolio of advanced communications, security, mobility, and managed services with their unique solutions for end-customers."
