Comings & Goings: Avant Names Ron Hayman Chief Cloud Officer

By Oliver VanDervoort

With near-universal agreement that cloud computing is becoming more valuable and more important to the average business day, Avant appears ready to make some big waves in this department. To that end, the company has announced it hired Ron Hayman as its Chief Cloud Officer.

Hayman, as the job title suggests, will be overseeing the firm’s cloud strategies. Specifically, this means he will be looking to improve on the company’s technologies and work on providing best in class cloud solutions.

It appears the company picked someone they can trust when it comes to this kind of advancement. Hayman has more than 15 years experience in some sort of IT leadership position. The exec has worked for a wide variety of organizations such as headhunter.net, careerbuilder.com and the United States Navy. This level of expertise is what Avant has been looking for when it comes to leading its cloud computing strategy.

“Our investment into the Channel’s first Chief Cloud Officer sets the tone for the explosive opportunity that sits in front of us,” said Ian Kieninger, CEO at AVANT said in a recent statement. “Ron’s addition to the company is in line with our goal to further define this space and be the market leader in our industry. Ron will help transform AVANT into a true technology company, enabling our partners with the most powerful tools and talent to ensure their success.”

The company says that one of Hayman’s first objectives will be launching Avant’s Security Practice. This particular offering is a subscription-based security platform. Not only will Hayman be leading the charge when it comes to getting the platform in the hands of more users, he will also be leading the engineering team as the firm tries to strengthen itself as one that can offer world class support and technology in the cloud.
