New OpenDNS Solution Helps MSP Partners Educate Customers About Security Landscape

By Laura Stotler

OpenDNS has released tools to help its MSP partners communicate with customers more effectively and differentiate their offerings. The company announced its Partner Enablement Pack is now available, featuring tools to help service providers better understand threats and security and communicate their solutions to their customers.

The new offering supports the Umbrella for MSPs cloud security service, which helps providers decrease malware infections on their customer devices by more than 80 percent. The goal of the offering is to help MSPs get on top of threats proactively so they can better allocate their resources to focusing on their core business.

The service features a multi-tenant dashboard to help service providers centrally manage all their customers and includes PSA integrations as well as support for desktops, roaming laptops and BYOD protection.

"The Partner Enablement Pack gives OpenDNS MSP partners pre-built marketing collateral to help them present to their customers about the latest changes in security,” said Dmitriy "Dima" Kumets, senior product manager, OpenDNS. “It's a robust collection of content and tools to help them express and elevate the value of their offering."

Partner tools include a co-branded datasheet and PowerPoint deck to help MSPs explain security to their SMB customers. They can also utilize solution briefs on antivirus and firewalls, Web filtering, cloud services and securing guest Wi-Fi.

centrexIT, a San Diego MSP specializing in IT management and consulting, is using the Partner Enablement Pack to better communicate with and educate its customers on a number of security issues. These include general changes in the security space, the current “threatscape” and an explanation of how the MSP protects customers against threats.

"My clients expect me to be the subject matter expert across a wide variety of IT topics, whether it's networking, disaster recovery or security," said Eric Rockwell, president, centrexIT. "When they created the Partner Enablement Pack, OpenDNS incorporated a lot of feedback from their partners about what our customers truly care about.”
