A renewed and strengthened partnership is set to bring a variety of benefits to data center and ICT solutions provider NTT Communications and NVIDIA. The latter, a provider of visual computing technologies, is using NTT’s Hong Kong data center facilities and managed ICT offerings as their data hub for the entire region.
The extended service provides NVIDIA with high speed point-to-point Ethernet leased line with up to 10Gbs capability, which is delivered over an automatic re-routable cable network. This offers the company’s regional hub in Hong Kong dedicated, secure and reliable connectivity with its offices in Asia Pacific and across the globe.
NTT markets its managed data center connectivity and ICT solutions through its Nexcenter brand. The provider is giving NVIDIA dedicated infrastructure including high-power and cooling features along with a fully redundant infrastructure that can minimize possible network outages. NVIDIA benefits from increased uptime and smooth and efficient overall business operations throughout the APAC area.
"We have always had a longstanding relationship with NTT Communications that has grown over the last six years,” said Tony Chang, IT infrastructure manager for NVIDIA APAC. “Its high quality data center has been instrumental in helping us house our data assets, while providing reliable support for business continuity across the region.”
According to Chang, business continuity and uptime are essential components of NVIDIA’s business operations. The company is using NTT’s Global Leased Line for business communications among its various APAC offices, which provides a secure private network. The solution is backed by the Asia Submarine-cable Express as well as the PC-1 backbones for ultra-low latency connectivity throughout the globe as well.
NTT has also been active in the cloud space recently, announcing a partnership with Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT). The alliance provides PLDT’s enterprise customers with NTT’s IaaS solution, which they are calling Enterprise Cloud Commercial. The cloud offering gives enterprises access to a personalized customer portal through which they may configure their virtual data centers. It’s being offered through multiple servers in nine countries and 11 data center location throughout the world. Service is slated to begin next month.
