Cloud Dynamics to Provide Added Mobility with IaaS

By Frank Griffin

Cloud solutions are giving organizations the ability to scale to proportions which would have been financially impossible in the past. The ability to expand at such an affordable price point is pushing companies to find opportunities and capitalize on them. Addictive Mobility, a Toronto-based mobile advertising solutions company, is integrating the enterprise-class, high performance, private Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud services from Cloud Dynamics to power its high-capacity mobile advertising with 500,000 requests per second demand.

In the past, achieving this type of scale would require considerable investment, but today Addictive Mobility is able to leverage Cloud Dynamics' software defined data center so it can have the computing and networking infrastructure for high performance and low latency.

"After several months of comprehensive internal analysis, we have decided to move from a global public cloud infrastructure data center provider and selected a Canadian partner with the same business goals and future-proof technologies," says Naveed Ahmad, CEO of Addictive Mobility.

According to the company, the move to the private cloud infrastructure was to improve its performance, reliability and scalability with enterprise grade cloud offering. Using mobile devices for ad targeting capabilities focused on algorithmic optimization of both unique data sets and user behavior on mobile devices, has allowed Addictive Mobility to serve more than 250 of the Fortune 500 brands including McDonalds, Pepsi, AT&T and Time Warner.

The Cloud Data Center (CloudDC) solution is specifically designed to ensure service providers are able to access the resources they need to deliver reliable cloud service to their customers.

CloudDC integrates Converged Infrastructure Fabric (CIF) servers, storage, networking, firewalls and load balancers to proven reference architecture in a pre-built and pre-configured package supplied in standard cabinets for easy deployment.

The platform simplifies the process in which IT infrastructure can migrate from physical to virtual and/or to cloud fabric efficiently. The components include: Juniper SRX Service Gateway for security and routing; Juniper QFabric and EX series switching; HP Blade system for high-density energy efficient computing; NetApp Unified Storage System for high performance storage; and Cloud Dynamics OFPM operating system with integrated compute hypervisors.

Some of the benefits of this service are:

  • Complete solution with no capital expenditure and low TCO
  • High performance and availability with simplified management and flexible support options
  • Straightforward approach to complex data center infrastructures and processes
  • Creates a new abstraction layer and presents the entire data center-as-a-service

CloudDC models are available as: LT Series – (Light), S Series – (Standard) and  H Series – (High Performance).

"We have the expertise in high performance platforms and this, combined with our superior local development teams, can take our customers to the next generation of the private cloud," says Vijai Karthigesu, COO of Cloud Dynamics.
