McAfee Epandeds MSP Program with a Pay-as-You-Go Model

By Michael Guta

As companies continue to integrate multiple touch points into the corporate network to improve employee efficiency, productivity and customer service, it leaves them vulnerable to security breaches. Consumers are becoming more aware of security protocols and are demanding the companies they do business with use the most robust security solutions available to ensure the data they entrust the organizations with is safe.

Security solution providers are meeting this demand by offering managed services for organizations with a comprehensive package and payments plans with multiple options. McAfee, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel Corporation that delivers proactive and proven security solutions and services for systems, networks, and mobile devices globally, has adopted a pay-as-you-go model for its managed service provider (MSP) program with its portfolio of authentication solutions.

The pay-as-you-go plan will be available with the company's Next Generation Firewall, Enterprise Security Manager, Network Security Platform, and Advanced Threat Defense.

With this payment option McAfee is going to be offering a range of Managed Security Services on a shared risk basis by expanding the number of products available through the program. As organizations move into cloud environments, the shifts towards managed services is increasingly becoming the preferred choice for IT related services.

The complexity of today's security environment requires specialized services which might be too costly for organizations to maintain on premise. By using the managed security services, the capital expenditure in IT security can be dramatically reduced. The security objectives organizations seek can be achieved with MSPs with an on-demand or subscription basis.

According to McAfee, it is expanding its MSP program in order to address the needs of organizations to access a wide range of technologies by adopting commercial models without having to assume all of the risk. This allows organizations to develop their IT capacity towards their core operations while leveraging the resources of security professionals that enhances existing systems cost-effectively.

"Security deployment models are shifting and the demand for Managed Services deployments amongst enterprises continues to expand for all types of security technologies,” said Gavin Struthers, senior vice president of worldwide channels at McAfee. This demand is being driven by customer needs and corresponding channel partner expectations. McAfee continues to evolve our MSP program to address the security deployment trends to meet the needs of our customers and channel partners.”
