Gemalto's Protiva Cloud Confirm Offers Strong Authentication to Cloud Service Providers

By Rory Lidstone

It’s only been a couple of weeks since ITEXPO Las Vegas 2013 took place, where digital security leader Gemalto pulled back the curtain on its M2M innovations, and the company has already unveiled a brand new offering called Protiva Cloud Confirm. This user-friendly, easily deployable software as a service (SaaS) solution enables multi-factor authentication designed expressly for use by cloud service providers (CSPs).

Aside from enhancing the security and convenience of cloud computing for corporate customers, Protiva Cloud Confirm also offers a mobile one-time password app and security token, in addition to a top-of-the-line, multi-tenant authentication server.

As such, the packaged solution is able to provide piece of mind to users of cloud services, as well as companies that have implemented a BYOD initiative. Best of all, Protiva Cloud Confirm was built with evolution in mind, so it is extremely versatile in terms of form factor.

Meanwhile, the solution features a detailed reporting platform for CSPs to monitor user activity and account creation, while self-service end user activations reduce the need for helpdesk calls regarding password resets.

Earlier in the summer, Gemalto partnered with PCS Mobile, a value-added reseller that specializes in mobile data products and services for state and local public safety organizations, to create a solution that helps law enforcement agencies comply with the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) mandate. This joint solution combines Gemalto’s Protiva Defender Suite with PCS Mobile’s expertise.

“The innovative and award-winning Protiva Cloud Confirm is a scalable, cloud ready solution that can be tailored to meet the user access demands of a CSP while facilitating implementation into any existing or future infrastructure,” said François Lasnier, senior vice president of Identity and Access at Gemalto. “Our solution provides CSPs with an added security value proposition that will attract new clients and maintain the loyalty of current ones through trust.”
