Zynstra has announced a new hybrid cloud solution for managed service providers (MSPs) geared toward small and medium-sized enterprises. The new offering is a fully managed IT solution for companies with up to 250 employees that is designed to give them the same benefits as larger enterprises.
The hybrid solution is built from the ground up and features Zynstra's patent-pending technology at its core. This provides the security and scalability of an on-premises solution with all the benefits of the cloud. The offering is built on HP ProLiant servers and is meant to be administered by MSPs.
Features include storage, security, backup and recovery and a number of optional applications like MS Exchange and SharePoint. It can also handle other applications required by a specific business. MSPs manage customer implementations remotely through the cloud via the Zynstra management solution. All IT systems are keep current through software updates via the cloud, ensuring SMEs receive the benefits and reliability of a larger, on-premises solution.
Costs are kept low since there is no upfront fee and customers pay a per-user, per-month fee for all required hardware and software. And because Zynstra's technology is at the core, all deployments are standardized and may easily be scaled up or down to meet changing customer needs.
"Small and medium sized businesses often get a raw deal when it comes to IT," said Nick East, CEO of Zynstra. "For them, IT is more often than not a drag on the business rather than a source of competitive advantage. Not to mention the fact that they typically pay more per person than a large enterprise for their IT and get an inferior product. We wanted to change all of that. We've built a product that is designed specifically for SMEs and doesn't force them to choose between cloud and traditional IT. With Zynstra, they get the benefits of both, delivered by IT service providers. We believe this is the future of how small and medium sized businesses will manage IT."
"With Zynstra we have found that IT doesn't have to be complicated and expensive," said Bill Darley, CFO of Cycell, which has been using the new solution prior to its official launch. "For a monthly fee we get all the functionality that we need and our IT service provider manages it all for us. The all-OPEX model gives us predictable IT costs so I know what to budget for as we grow. It's kept-up-to-date and is scalable so we are sure there will be no unexpected upgrade requirements."
