When it comes to making business decisions, demographic data and location analytics are critical components that can help organizations get or remain ahead of the curve in an increasingly competitive business landscape.
For example, Redlands, Calif.-based Esri Location Analytics offers a business platform that is designed to help organizations maximize data and applications.
The cloud-based analytics platform incorporates a geographic information system (GIS) designed to help organizations visualize, question, analyze, interpret and understand data. The platform works in the cloud, on mobile devices and within existing information technology (IT) systems, providing companies with information that reveals relationships, patterns and trends, according to Jack Dangermond, president of Esri.
“We want to help people get the most out of their enterprise systems. Location analytics lets you understand the where associated with business activities,” Dangermond said in a statement. “You can easily visualize data, take it to the cloud, and open up access. That means better, faster decision making for everyone.”
Managers, executives, and frontline staff can use location analytics and mapped data for a range of applications, including: asset management; business intelligence (BI); customer relationship management (CRM); enterprise resource management; and risk management.
Esri Location Analytics is designed to pinpoint the relationship between corporate data, such as profits and inventory, and location-specific data, such as customer and facility addresses.
The platform offers mapping visualization. Bidirectional communication between the map and other key business data enables analysis based on location as well as geographic information enrichment.
Earlier this year, fast-food chain Wendy’s implemented Esri Business Analyst with the restaurant’s corporate IT systems. The Web-based business GIS solution is part of the company’s reporting system for new locations, assisting in site selection and market analysis.
The solution includes server GIS applications, Esri demographics data and customized analytics developed specifically by GIS, Inc. to streamline and enhance Wendy’s site screening and market assessment process.
