Unified Office Bridges the Gap Between Cloud and Legacy PBX

Unified Office Bridges the Gap Between Cloud and Legacy PBX

In the late 80s and 90s, more telecommunications companies began laying fiber, which introduced an overwhelming amount of bandwidth. This bandwidth eventually propelled the growth of applications, which in turn consumed all the bandwidth.

“Then data-hungry smart phones came and all the sudden we are back to the problems in the early 90s where we don’t have enough bandwidth again,” explained Ray Pasquale, CEO and founder of Unified Office Inc., in an exclusive interview at ITEXPO Miami last week.

Wi-Fi was becoming ubiquitous, so Pasquale wondered what the next step was and how he could contribute to the industry.  So he talked to a lot of SMBs and noticed they all had old telephones. He thought to himself, “Here is a huge market that is antiquated - you see small businesses with 30-year old telephones while people also have tablets.”

Pasquale thought he could crack the code with mobile devices for business communications, so he decided to develop a company that would offer solutions he now refers to as “Skype on Steroids.”

“It’s not just a phone anymore,” he said. “It’s about making your life really easy and an interactive experience. The services should follow you; you shouldn’t have to chase them down.”

Today, Pasquale’s company Unified Office Inc., a next-generation IT managed services provider (MSP), offers solutions that enable the SMBs to gain a competitive edge in this fast-paced environment. His company leverages the power of virtualized computing platforms and communications systems, allowing the SMB to take advantage of these innovative services without the need for costly capital investments in IT infrastructure and staff.

Pasquale added, “There are the cloud people and the legacy PBX people and my job is to build this gap in between. We stitch things together to make really cool services for our customers that are creative and innovative.”

Unified Office provides the SMB owner with a transformative, business communications managed service that integrates cloud applications with business-class VoIP. It has integrated reliable, open standard VoIP and information technology innovations as a fully managed communications service called Total Connect NowSM.

“We make big company services available to small business. We engineer a high quality experience for a small business at a price they are willing to pay for,” said Pasquale. “Some of the things we do, big companies have never even seen.”

For Doug Bates, president of the Greater Portsmouth, NH Chamber of Commerce, subscribing to Total Connect NowSM has significantly reduced his stress. “It’s unbelievable. I don’t even have to think about our IT services anymore. Unified Office has taken complete responsibility for it,” he commented on Unified Office’s website.

Over the years, Unified Office has always strived to stay ahead of the market. Pasquale referred to quote by former professional hockey player Wayne Gretzky, when he said, “The goal here is to skate to where the puck will be.”
