Technology services partners – such as MSPs and MSSPs – are essential to many organizations as their IT environments become more complex and as security threats become more prominent. Similar to how organizations look to service providers to make things easier, service providers need solutions to allow them to achieve better and more efficient results. Everyone is trying to do more with less.
That is why service providers rely on BackBox, a network automation platform focused on automating network security and operations at scale. Edafio, for example, uses BackBox to free up engineers who previously spent most, if not all, of their time, pushing out upgrades and patches. With Backbox, the engineers and technicians focus more on customers and value-generating activities.
BackBox allows service providers to schedule automated backup and storing of device configurations, single-click recovery real-time inventory management, automate custom tasks and preempt health checks for critical devices.
To deliver faster time-to-value and better integration for MSPs and MSSPs, new and enhanced features have been added to BackBox’s network and security device automation platform. The update introduces new features designed with the needs of technology services partners at the forefront.
Improved license management gives MSPs and MSSPs more flexibility in terms of how they manage licenses based on the ever-evolving needs of their clients. Through this feature, administrators manage client licenses dynamically without BackBox having to intervene.
Namespace overlap allows users to manage overlapping and duplicate IP address spaces or identical device names across disparate client networks. Okta integration, LDAP, MFA and SSO support enables TSPs to leverage IAM products and technologies, enhancing the security posture of these ecosystems while improving operator efficiency.
Additionally, improved platform user experience offers refined settings that help simplify and streamline platform usage, allowing for faster time-to-value and easier navigation.
"This latest release offers several new features and updates specifically aimed at making the jobs of MSPs and MSSPs easier," said Craig McDonald, vice president of product management at BackBox.
The availability of the updates expands on BackBox's network backup, upgrade and automation features that MSPs rely on to deliver managed network and firewall management to their customers.
