Darksteel Adds Identity Authentication Security

Darksteel Adds Identity Authentication Security

By Greg Tavarez

Cybersecurity is a big task and is expensive for all organizations, from the largest to the smallest. Managed security service providers like Darksteel Technologies are delivering cybersecurity solutions to its SMB customer base, providing tools and techniques used by large enterprises to ensure they have the same level of protection.

Darksteel selected BIO-key International Inc.’s PortalGuard Identity-as-a-Service platform to provide its customers with identity authentication security for access to their desktops, critical business applications and data. IAM is important for ensuring that the right employees can access the data they need. This alone is key when it comes to preventing breaches.

Darksteel selected PortalGuard IDaaS for its various choices for workforce and customer multi-factor authentication, Identity-Bound Biometrics options, single sign-on and self-service password reset to support its customer's IAM strategies. BIO-key's IBB centrally stores biometric data in a non-reversible way to create a unique biometric identity that’s used to verify the person taking action.

"We needed a solution that can fit many of our varied customer needs. We were impressed with BIO-key’s wide variety of multi-factor authentication options for our customers to choose from to secure access to their desktops and applications," said Carlos Cisneros, managing director for Darksteel Technologies, "We are looking forward to a long, mutually beneficial partnership with BIO-key."

PortalGuard IDaaS is providing enterprise security capabilities that MSPs and MSSPs can use to improve operational effectiveness and their customer's security posture at an affordable price.

"We are pleased to add Darksteel Technologies to our community of MSPs and MSSPs who use our award-winning PortalGuard platform as their identity security solution for customers," said Fred Corsentino, CRO of BIO-key. "We were very impressed with the expertise and professionalism of Darksteel Technologies and feel confident that their customers are in good hands."
