Dell Unveils UltraSharp Webcam For 4K Videoconferencing

By Luke Bellos

Computer and digital technology producer Dell has announced the release of the UltraSharp Webcam, one of the company’s most advanced 4K web cameras to date.

As the business world continues to shift to hybrid work environments as a result of the global pandemic, manufacturers in the tech space are creating  digital tools that hope to rival the experience of working in the office. According to Global Market Insights, the video conferencing market is expected to reach $50 billion in value by 2026.

The Dell UltraSharp Webcam is equipped with features typically found in DSLR cameras, offering high quality imaging thanks to the 4K Sony STARVIS™ CMOS sensor and multi-element lens. The camera also enables users to host clear video in any lighting, due to Digital Overlap HDR capabilities and automated 3D/2D video noise reduction. Users also have the ability to customize fields of view and zoom up to 5x, offering complete control over the frame.

Along with advancements in imaging quality, the Dell Ultrasharp webcam incorporates artificial intelligence for auto framing so users can avoid manual adjustments in the middle of conferencing. The camera is also equipped with Windows Hello, a facial recognition software used for secure and swift logins.

Dealing with a sub-par webcam for online conferencing was seen as a minor inconvenience for users prior to the start of the pandemic. Now that working from home seems to be a permanent fixture in business culture, having a high quality camera is closer to a necessity.
