Ciber's Managed Services Help Clients Migrate to the Cloud and Implement Mobile Apps

By Laura Stotler

Managed service provider (MSP) and consulting company Ciber has decades of experience advising customers on technology. The company has evolved over the years and now offers a variety of IT services to help clients in an array of markets transition to the cloud and implement mobile applications and services.

The company’s biggest strength is its ability to understand clients’ individual needs and provide custom solutions that fit in well with their budgets and core business objectives. Paul A. Mayne, director of business consulting services at Ciber, spoke at ITEXPO Miami about some of the main queries the company receives from customers. He sat down with TMC’s Rachel Ramsey for an exclusive interview            on the topic.

“A lot of our customers come to us with a variety of problems,” said Mayne. “They have a strategic initiative that they’re trying to get started and they need some expertise for that, they may have a challenge with figuring out their budgets.” He added that many customers are also looking for managed services for processes that fall outside their in-house expertise, and Ciber helps them create a business case and implement those solutions.

Ciber’s offerings span the range from cloud services to ERP to mobile applications, and the company’s customers are derived from the healthcare, automotive, financial and government markets, to name a few. The company recently forged a managed services deal in the healthcare sector with Excela Health in which Ciber is deploying Infor financial system applications and providing managed support services. The partnership enables migration from Excela’s legacy business and operational systems to a new integrated healthcare delivery system, resulting in cost savings, improved customer service and streamlined costs.

Ciber also recently announced its expansion to the Australian marketplace, offering Managed Services including IT implementation maintenance and support.

“After we implement ERP systems from leading providers like SAP and Oracle, we’re increasingly seeing clients ask for ongoing support and maintenance,” said Michael Schmidt, director, Ciber Managed Services. “Clients recognize that Ciber’s Managed Services team can help them get the most from the ERP solutions they’ve chosen. At the same time, Managed Services help clients run their ERP applications with predictable operations expense, as well as reduced demand for infrastructure and often hard-to-find staff.”
