AppZero's cloud migration tool now works with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the company announced. The new AppZero Service Provider edition for AWS enables system integrators and IT admins to move server applications to AWS quickly and without any code changes required.
The new AppZero solution is a self-service Web portal designed for the automated cloud migration of existing Windows applications. The service accomplishes this by separating an application from the operating system and machine, copying it, and then reinstalling the application on AWS.
The offering enables customers to move from an old OS to a newer one simply and quickly, enabling cloud computing accessibility for all types of businesses, of all sizes. According to AppZero, the ability to update to newer versions of the WIndows OS as Windows Server 2003 becomes obsolete is critical. In fact, the company conducted a survey this year of Fortune 1,000 companies that showed 40 percent of participants want to move to cloud computing as part of their EOL remediation efforts. The solution for AWS enables that move easily and cost effectively.

O'Connor added the solution has a number of benefits, including automatic discovery of applications without the need to make code changes or install agents on the source machine. Then the time-consuming task of moving apps over to AWS is completely automated, saving time and money while reducing bandwidth.
