dinCloud Hosted Virtual Server Solution Available via Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace

By Laura Stotler

dinCloud has further strengthened its partnership with Ingram Micro, announcing that its dinServer hosted virtual server solution is now available through the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace. The partnership agreement with Ingram Micro enables the distributor to sell, market and support the solution for its North American channel partners.

The Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace targets managed service providers (MSPs), VARs and system integrators that are focused on cloud computing and services. The dinServer solution is tailored to those types of partners since it simplifies the hosting of servers and applications and offers complete data center capabilities. dinCloud's hosted desktop service is already being offered in the Cloud Marketplace.

Features of the hosted server offering include security, firewall and a high level of user control. Customers are given their own environment comprised of a firewall, private virtual servers and virtual network and private storage from NetApp to make up the virtual private data center. Environments are support by dinCloud through regular backups as well as multiple layers of physical and virtual security.

"dinCloud is helping channel partners transform the way companies use the cloud," said Renee Bergeron, vice president of managed services and cloud computing, Ingram Micro North America. "dinCloud's server is very complementary to the hosted desktop service from dinCloud that we currently offer to our growing base of channel partners."

The strengthened partnership with Ingram Micro solidifies dinCloud's position in the cloud computing realm. Just last month, the company was chosen as a finalist in Microsoft's Cloud Partner of the Year awards. The Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace offers high visibility to a variety of cloud providers, covering several categories. These include business applications, cloud management services, communication and collaboration, infrastructure, platforms and security.

dinCloud provides a number of cloud computing solutions in addition to its hosted servers and desktops. These include complete provisioning in the cloud, in which applications and data along with desktops and servers are co-located in a secure, virtual private data center. The dinManage cloud orchestration and management platform enables customers to configure, scale and customize their solutions all the way down to command line access.

“When we were searching for vendors to partner with, dinCloud’s user experience, quality of its infrastructure, and top notch support were the key decision drivers that made them stand out from the rest,” said Scott Schulze, director of operations and president at Fusion Technology Solutions LLC. “dinServer allows our customers to have a complete virtual private data center that includes security, firewall, and complete control over the environment, while dinManage allows us to assist our customers in the onboarding, migration, and management of their virtual co-location.”
