Managed Service Provider Week in Review

Managed Service Provider Week in Review

By Laura Stotler

Global expansion was the name of the game in the managed services realm this week. MSPs are forging partnerships, opening new offices and data centers and generally spreading out to offer comprehensive, worldwide services.

Bringing managed services to Qatar was the goal of a partnership announced this week between Arbor Networks and Ooredoo (formerly Qtel). The Qatar MSP is using the Peakflow SP and Pravail tools from Arbor to help in delivering managed services to the region. The tools will help Ooredoo in offering DDoS managed services as well as on-premise network security and management.

Denmark and the Nordic region were targeted in a partnership this week that will provide a complete B2B integration solution. KMD, a Danish IT and software provider, is making the managed B2B integration solution from GXS available to companies in the Nordic area. The offering helps customers replace legacy B2B gateway software with a cloud-based integration offering, while managed services from GXS help organizations grow their own B2B networks.

Connecting East to West is the goal of Singapore-based MSP SecureAX. The company is offering a new set of data center services that leverage the cloud and virtualization. The offerings are designed to help customers build their infrastructure in Singapore to reach the Asian market as well as connect it to the West. Services include everything from procurement of hardware and installation to proactive monitoring and maintenance of hardware and software.

In an announcement with far-reaching implications for the managed services space, Logicworks has joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) with its new Managed AWS service offering. MSP Logicworks is offering customers AWS cloud resources combined with its own systems administrators, cloud engineers and network technicians. The company, an AWS Partner Network Consulting Partner, offers a complete AWS solution to its clients including deployment and implementation of client-specific workflows. The MSP also manages the solution, including application maintenance and support.
