Zenoss Supports NWN, Monitors New Cloud Collaboration Service

NWN (News - Alert), a source for diverse information system services and solutions, has selected Zenoss to monitor their new cloud collaboration offering. Zenoss is a major distributor of management software for physical, virtual and cloud-based IT infrastructures.

NWN has fully deployed Zenoss to monitor all NWN Managed Service customers since May 2011. Zenoss was chosen as an open management solution that allows NWN to develop and deliver the required monitoring for their customers.

“With Zenoss we can customize the way we support each customer, and become an extension to the customer's team,” said Drew Phelps, VP and General Manager for NWN's Managed Services Unit. “Zenoss is very accurate. Unlike our previous solution, which gave us lots of false positives, Zenoss tells us what is actually happening."

NWN offers managed remote services and onsite monitoring. NWN’s NCloud Hosted Collaboration offers dial tone, presence, video and contact center enterprise services from its NWN-built public cloud infrastructure. The company is one of the first Cisco (News - Alert) partners to deliver collaboration services to mid-market customers.

NWN possesses a strong ability to customize offerings to the needs of their customers due to its partnerships with Cisco, VMware and EMC (News - Alert).

“Zenoss is built to help innovative service providers like NWN deliver reliable, cost effective, cloud-based services to their customers,” said Zenoss CEO, Bill Karpovich. “Our unified operations platform and NWN's expertise with Cisco's collaboration technologies is a winning combination."

Last year, NWN acquired ComFrame, an international application development firm and one of the 37 nationally managed Microsoft (News - Alert) system integrators. NWN gained the kind of capabilities needed to deliver application development and deployment services to the bigger global systems integrators, and control the company’s China-based off-shore operations.

The acquisition also enabled NWN to combine a suite of services including strategic consulting, application development and deployment, and 24/7 support in a single comprehensive package.
