ThreatLocker Gains Magic Touch with Central Florida Community

By Greg Tavarez

The Orlando Magic are remembered for some magical moments since 1989. Power slam dunks from Shaq and brick-wall blocks from Dwight Howard are among those moments as both led the team to NBA Finals during their respective tenures but fell a bit short in the end. Still, that doesn’t dissuade any from the organization’s mission to be champions on the court.

That said, being champions on the court isn’t the only thing on the Magic’s mind. The organization strives to become champions off the court, too. To continue making a difference in the Central Florida region by supporting various programs and initiatives to benefit the community, the Magic are in a multiyear partnership with Orlando-based company ThreatLocker.

Magic fans should expect to see in-arena signage during all Magic home games, co-branded digital content on the Magic social media channels and activations in premium areas within Amway Center.

“We are happy to forge this partnership with the Orlando Magic as it reinforces our commitment to continue developing the Central Florida community, whether it be technical or non-technical skills,” said Danny Jenkins, CEO and co-founder of ThreatLocker. “It is a privilege to partner with a team that also believes strongly about growing local business and curating local talent.”

Staying with the technical side of things that Jenkins mentioned, ThreatLocker's cybersecurity tools allow organizations to chart their own course free from cybercriminals with a cost-effective approach to cybersecurity using controls to prevent threats like ransomware. Ringfencing, Allowlisting and Data Storage Control from ThreatLocker helps protect organizations from malicious and misused software.

Ringfencing adds a second line of defense for applications that are permitted by defining how applications interact with each other and by controlling what resources applications access, such as networks, files and registries.

Application Allowlisting stops applications from running except those that are explicitly allowed. What this basically means is that untrusted software, including ransomware and other malware, are denied by default.

ThreatLocker Storage Control allows granular policies to be set. The policies range from blocking USB drives to blocking access to a backup share.

Those are but a few capabilities that ThreatLocker offers as it continues to be a face in the local community in endpoint security technologies. The partnership with the Magic follows ThreatLocker’s move to a larger local headquarters after tripling its workforce.

ThreatLocker is an MSP Expo platinum sponsor in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Feb. 14-17, 2023.MSP Expo is part of the  #TECHSUPERSHOW, which includes nearly a dozen collocated business technology events that bring buyers, users, sellers and partners together under one roof to educate and build business relationships around the technologies driving business success today. ThreatLocker will be in Booth #846 in the exhibit hall.
